If the golf swing is a throw - and it is - then your hold on the club is everything.

It's the one connection between you and the clubhead you're throwing. And most golfers are trying to throw while hanging onto a grip that's too thin for them. So the hands tense up and squeeze the life out of it.

Chunky Grips are thicker than standard, with a reduced taper. That extra size does something simple and brilliant. It makes good gripping easier. You stop strangling the club and start feeling it. The tension goes, the feel comes alive, and the club is suddenly a lot easier to just throw - which is the whole game.

The grip the scientists would have designed.

This came out of my years working with biomechanists. Serious movement scientists.

When they looked at a standard golf grip, they couldn't understand why it was so thin. It made no sense to them. A thicker handle is simply easier to hold - and easier to hold means easier to throw. Golf had just never questioned it. Thin grips because thin grips, the same way it does most things.

So I made the grip the scientists would have designed. Chunky.

And here's the part I didn't expect. The reduced taper - a grip that stays thicker down toward the bottom hand instead of pinching in - has become all the rage on the major tours. Tour players have worked out what the scientists knew all along. It simply feels better. You get a great feel of the clubhead, so you can move the club the way it's meant to be moved - freely, with intent, like a weapon. When I first ordered these, I didn't even know my manufacturer already had the reduced-taper mold. When he wrote back and told me, I couldn't believe my luck.

A set of Chunky Grips

Without a doubt, the best product I've ever made.

Everyone who tries a set wants one. I use them, my players use them, and the feedback is always the same. Why doesn't every club feel like this?

These aren't a warehouse product.

They're made in small runs, and I pack and post every order myself. Your set doesn't come off a shelf in some distribution center - it comes off my bench. That's how I keep them exactly the way they're meant to be.

Once you try them, there's no going back.

Thin grips feel like a pencil afterwards. Don't say I didn't warn you.

What you get.

I've seen grips like these sell for upwards of $30 each. That's nearly $400 for a full set. You're getting the lot for $140.

Every order is a full set of 13 grips for your whole bag - plus one extra grip, free. That bonus grip is your tester, and I genuinely recommend using it. Put it on a single club first, go and hit some balls, and dial in your ideal thickness - you can even add a little tape underneath to build it up further if you want it chunkier still. Once that one club feels just right, match the rest of the set to it. Full install instructions come with every order.

Questions.

What size are these grips exactly?

They're slightly larger than a standard midsize grip. Not cartoon chunky, but chunky enough to feel solid and comfortable. If you like midsize grips, you'll probably love these. If you like skinny grips, maybe not.

The size is based on the grip thickness I've used for over 20 years. Approximate dimensions: butt ~26.8 mm, middle ~22.8 mm, lower hand ~17.8 mm.

They also feature a reduced taper design, so the lower hand feels fuller and more stable. The reduced taper may remove the need for extra tape or build-up underneath, but that's up to you.

How much do they weigh?

Each "Chunky" grip weighs 72 grams. That's about 21 grams heavier than a typical standard grip (around 50g). The extra weight sits higher in the grip and helps give a more solid, stable feel in your hands without needing to squeeze the club.

Are these full cord or half cord?

Half cord - just the way I like it. The top half is corded for control and grip in wet conditions. The bottom half is soft and tacky, giving you a buttery feel.

Do they reduce taper?

Yes. This is a special feature you won't find on other grips. I've always used tape on the shaft to reduce taper. When my manufacturer read my emails, he said: "Cameron, I already have a reduced taper mold here. Why don't you use that instead?" So I have.

How do they compare to other brands?

Honestly? These are super premium grips. My manufacturer makes for some of the leading brands in golf (you've heard of them). But you're not paying for thousands of them to be given to PGA Tour stars.

How many come in the set?

13 + 1. I'm throwing in an extra grip for you to test. It's what I did, it's a very good idea, and then you can set up the other 13 how you like. Or keep a test club at home to swing, grip and hit balls. I have one too, and I love using it.

Do you include regrip instructions?

Yes. I've put together a full series of instructions if you want to regrip yourself.

Do I need to reweight my clubs?

In most cases, no. The slight weight difference is minimal and most golfers adjust naturally.

Are they suitable for women?

Yes. Grip size is more about comfort and control than hand size. Many golfers, including women and juniors, use thicker grips comfortably.

Who are they for?

Golfers who feel standard grips are too thin, players looking to reduce grip tension, those wanting more stability through impact, and anyone who prefers a fuller feel in the hands.

What color are they?

You can have any color you like, as long as it's black and blue.

Where do you ship to, and what currency is this?

We ship worldwide, and shipping is calculated at checkout. All pricing is in USD, because most of my customers are outside Australia and USD keeps things consistent.

What's the refund policy?

All sales are final. These grips are heavily discounted and shipped direct from my stock, so if you're unsure, hold off. If anything arrives faulty or damaged, contact us and we'll replace it. Full details are in the refund policy.
